Spring Choir is starting!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are starting another choir, this time directed by a parent. Her name is Heidi Bates. All students from grades 3-6 are invited to join.  The choir will begin Wednesday January 10th from 2-3 p.m. and run every week until March 14th.  If your student wants to participate then the student needs to just show up to the first practice.  On Wednesday the 14th we will hold practice as usual from 2-3, and then have a concert for the parents from 6:30-7 p.m.  The next day on the 15th, we will perform for the school in the afternoon.

As we have done in the past, we will collect 5 dollars for t-shirts and each student will sign a contract, so they know what is expected of them.  Please make checks out to Angie Nelson. We are super excited to sing!  Come join us!!!

We have someone to accompany, order t-shirts and make the printed program, but we need some more parent help.  Traci Black ran the business side of the choir in the past and did a fabulous job! We are dividing her jobs among 5+ people;) so it won’t be too much for one person.

We are looking for…

1  parent who can be there every week to manage the roll (which will be on the podium every week for the students to sign as they walk in) and help with management of the students.  2+ parents could divide this job up and do every other week if that works better.

1  parent who can collect the money for the t-shirts (Angie Nelson will be ordering them), collect the contracts, and generate a roll for the students to sign.  You will need to be there for the first few weeks to gather things, but then wouldn’t need to attend.

1  parent who will be in charge of purchasing and serving refreshments for the night of the concert. We usually pull one of the tables down in the back and serve cookies or brownies on a napkin and some cups of water for the students to share with their guests.  The PTA provides the money for these treats.  It’s not too big of a deal, but it makes the concert a little more special.

Please contact Heidi Bates if you are interested in helping out with these jobs!  (801-694-8350)
